YOUR MISSIONS
AOD 2012

janglingargot:

AOD 2012: The cosplay, the pageantry, the Homesticks.  A record must be kept for the ages, that our children may know of the glory that went before.  (Seriously, I have been to few more perfect cons, if any.  The weekend went beautifully in every way.)  Pictures below were taken with my fiance’s camera; any shoddy camerawork is by default probably mine, since I cannot keep a camera steady to save my life.

My fiance is THE BEST FIANCE, as well as THE BEST DAD CROCKBERT (♥).  Alas, my carefully de-boozed and de-odorized vermouth bottle was naively left out in our hotel room, without thought for its safety, and its life was ended prematurely by an overzealous hotel employee.  I blithely left it sitting by the TV on Sunday morning, and never saw it again.

This child was magnificent.  She was literally running circles around her father(?) when, totally charmed, we asked for a picture with her.  She explained that she was a mermaid princess, then proceeded to dispense unto me about seventeen high fives, most of them “up high” and several involving actual jumping.

A wild Hussplayer appeared!  Wild Hussplayer used ==> Cookies!  They’re super delicious!

Homestuck photoshoot, 4:13 at the Pagoda!  My fiance likes to be meta and take pictures of the people taking pictures at these meetups.

Adorable artistically-inclined John cosplayer, wherever you are, thank you for this work of art.  (She made it on the spot, of her own volition, and just for us!!)  We have both declared it a treasured heirloom, and it has a fighting chance of actually being framed on our fridge someday.  I’m not being even the slightest bit ironic about this.

Thank you, all four of you, for indulging me with this pose.  Your costumes are all gorgeous and I love how it turned out.  ♥

Dad Crocker, an upstanding citizen, seen here being a good example for his amazingly adorable daughter.

…and Mom Lalonde, an aspiring cougar, seen here offering alcohol to a minor.  OTL

NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD FATHERS TO BREAK OUT THE BARBASOL IN DEFENSE OF THEIR MANY, MANY CHILDREN.

And then it was my birthday on Sunday, and I wore Aeris/th for the Xteenth time.  (Did you get a Valentine/candy from me, dear reader?  Please say you did. ♥ )  More meta photography from my man, here.

And then we went to the Palace of Fine Arts on Monday.

(My fiance astutely observed that the architect/sculptor here “was more of an @$$ man”.)

And then we visited the Exploratorium, and enjoyed the marimo.  Little touch of home sweet Hokkaido, there.

And then I did the windy thing.  THE END.

Fuck yeah, Exploratorium. I went there for a major cosplay gathering back in November. Best gathering of the year.
